VERY. LONG. DAY. For all parties involved. Had a lot of last minute things come up, and one emergency meeting later things seemed to have smoothed out a bit.

Now going to bed.

Swiped from one [livejournal.com profile] suzume_sparrow:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. Some of you have something in common with me and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all.Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...s/he likes office supplies."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

Final number for the Geico insurance: $550 for 6 months. I forgot to tell them about an accident I don't remember having in September of 2000. I was a worse driver than then I am now, so it's fairly possible I actually did have the accident. ^_^; Still a significant savings. \o/

And with that, let's get our next addition to the friends list...

...it's [livejournal.com profile] robertsearcy! COME ON DOWN! You are the next Friends List Member on DUSTY'S LIVEJOURNAL!

I feel like the living dead. I also feel like someting crawled into my mouth and died while I was sleeping. UGH.

Off to brush teefers and then to take the car to the auto shop. Funny how it's called Crosstown Auto Service... and I have to drive all the way across town in a Geo Metro that sounds like a fricking monster truck. ~_~

Also, I SUCK AT BIRTHDAYS. I remember Mom's because I've known her for 23 years. I remember [livejournal.com profile] scardian's because he's only a week younger than I am. Everyone else... oi. I REALLY REALLY REALLY miss those LiveJournal email birthday reminders. ._.

What I'm trying to get at is Happy Belated Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] qathetenkou!! Next time you're online, I'll have a prezzie for you. *nods*

So, how has your morning been, everyone?
driley1: (Default)
So yes. In order to show my pride for my country, I must go blow something up today.

Guess what I'm having for lunch today? =p

1. Welcome to the insanity, [livejournal.com profile] emmav_! She's my little sister. I kid you not. Yes. I do have a sister. :D So, flist, I'll be watching. *waggles finger*

2. These storms are getting hellacious. Lots and lots of lightning, loud thunder, and an unconfirmed report of someone getting struck by lightning. O_O No tornadoes to speak of yet... *crosses fingers* The one good thing about still being in Corryville vs. waaaaaaaaay out east -- tornado sirens. Hopefully they'll stay quiet, but at least they're there if need be. I'm quite tornado-phobic, so hopefully I won't freak out too much if it does happen. I made sure my computer was on the surge strip, so I'm charging it as I go for now. I took the power cord out and the battery lasted about an hour, and when it died, the computer just stopped - didn't even go to sleep. >_< Will have to look into getting a new battery, probably. *kicks self for not getting the protection thingy*

So today is "Spend Time With Your Family Because Your Busy/Lazy Ass Hasn't In A Month" day. ^_^;;;;;;

So for lunch I'm meeting Granny at Golden Corral, and then going to Mom's for dinner. At the very least, I'm getting 2 pretty good meals. :D

But today I'll be pretty nonexistant on messenger, so call me on my phone if you need me. I got more minutes on my plan, so we can yak.

Off for buffet-y goodness! *poses*

*runs head into wall*

My stupid brain. I don't understand it.

I can't keep my mind on any one thing for more than about 60 seconds.

So for those I've been talking to on IM and IRC, I apologize for randomly falling off the face of the earth. Methinks I'm going to go to bed early tonight instead of finding new webcomic obsessions.

BTW, that Axe Body Spray stuff works. I was testing the different flavors of it by spraying it on random parts of my arm in the deodorant aisle in Kroger. And now I just randomly have to inhale the back of my hand.

There's times when you just want something physical SO BAD.

I feel homesick for a home that doesn't even exist... yet.

All the same, this ranks pretty badly on the list of funks.

AIM stuff

Have decided to go with a friends-only approach to AIM after getting one too many spambots. The one that broke the camel's back--

Er. O.o; No thanks, already have one.

Anyway, the point of this post is that there are some of you that I don't have your names on my list, so either leave them in a comment here or email them to me.

Been awhile since I've done a meme, so here goes.

From the illustrious [livejournal.com profile] scardian:

What five things do you enjoy doing to help lower your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal... and then tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs.

  1. I agree with my partners in crime - I love spending time in any way with [livejournal.com profile] imperfectkatoru and [livejournal.com profile] scardian.
  2. Playing Tetris. The only downside is I can become involved for hours.
  3. Driving on an open road on a sunny day with the windows down.
  4. Listening to and playing music.
  5. Having a kitty snuggle in my lap.

My five tags
Eh, anyone who wants to do it, go right ahead. :3

Anyone seen my fingernail clippers? >_>;

So, tags.

So, tags. A very nifty idea which, if integrated with friend groups, could be really awesome.

(and this is a gratuitous tag-test post).

This has been the best week in recent memory -- no, scratch that. BEST WEEK OF MY LIFE. And I don't say that lightly.

[livejournal.com profile] qathetenkou: eeeeeew, hamburger helper
[livejournal.com profile] driley1: The Cheesy Hashbrows Helper is AWESOME though! ;_; Even when you use veggie-burger meat!
[livejournal.com profile] qathetenkou: AAAAH! VEGGIE-BURGERS!!! *throws up*
[livejournal.com profile] qathetenkou: mom got suckered into buying some and they were awful
[livejournal.com profile] driley1: Not the best stuff, no... but when you have vegan roommates, you learn to deal. >_>;
[livejournal.com profile] qathetenkou: Boxed shit is awful. If I'm home, dad won't eat the boxed/bagged hasbrowns. xD I have to peel up some potatoes and make homemade. <3
[livejournal.com profile] qathetenkou: So, if your roommates ever turn into zombies, will they moan, "graaaaaaiiiiiins..."
[livejournal.com profile] driley1: OMG
[livejournal.com profile] driley1: I think you've beat Bastian when it comes to punnage.
